Q & A RECURRENT PREGENANCY LOSS (CAUSES AND TREATMENT)
About the Book
The incidence of recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) is on
rise worldwide. A Swedish study has shown an increase of 54% over 10 years of
time. The causes of RPL are diverse including environmental factors, lifestyle
alterations, and limited awareness. RPL is a distressing situation for both the
couple and the attending physician. Such unfortunate couples need special care
along with sympathy, encouragement and hope. In depth knowledge and experience
are needed to handle such situations.
It has been observed that the couple with RPL undergoes
many irrelevant investigations. Many times, the investigations are repetitive,
as the women change the physicians due to anxiety to achieve one successful
pregnancy and this may end up in huge financial burden with little benefit. The
book 'Recurrent Pregnancy Loss' has attempted to provide solutions to the
problems associated with RPL. The book has also detailed the treatment for
various causes of RPL in the form of question & answers, and the
controversial areas are adequately addressed with suitable literature evidence.
Hope this book may serve as a guide to the practicing
obstetricians and postgraduate students.
